Your donation is eligible for charitable tax credits

A tax incentive introduced in the 2013 Federal Budget, called the First-time Donor's Super Credit, provides further incentives for those interested in making charitable donations. If you, your spouse or common-law partner have not claimed a charitable tax credit since the 2008 tax year, you are eligible for an increase in your tax credit for donations, during the tax years 2013 to 2017. This credit can only be claimed once.

The amount of eligible tax credit is calculated as follows:

    -  On a new donation of less than $200, those eligible will receive a tax credit equaling 40% of the amount donated
    -  On a new donation of up to $1,000, those eligible will receive a tax credit equaling 54% of the amount donated
